Pseudoalteromonas is marine exopolysaccharide (EPS) producing bacterium species that produce biologically active metabolites. Many of which benefits the skin. One such metabolite that benefits the skin is Thiomarinol. This metabolite along with marinolic and uronic acid, posses antibiotic activity against bacteria, even the resistant type.
Bioanalysis shows that pseudoalteromonas metabolite byproducts contain moisture-retention ability, antioxidant activity, and promotes effects on cell survivability. Further evaluation shows that the metabolites are nontoxic and nonirritating to the skin, with research also suggesting that the collagen oligopeptides-rich byproducts may have benefits in skincare.
